At Colchester Community Debt Support CIC, we are dedicated to making a difference in our community.
Our mission is to provide compassionate, accessible, confidential and practical debt support to individuals with personal debt problems.
We help people take control of their finances through clear guidance, practical tools and non judgemental advice, helping them move from worry to stability.

Founded in February 2025 our organisation was set up by Jo Blyth, a qualified money adviser with over 20 years’ experience working in charities, including time spent running a local Citizens Advice.
After the Covid pandemic, many services moved online or became harder to reach in person. At the same time, the cost-of-living crisis has made
Founded in February 2025 our organisation was set up by Jo Blyth, a qualified money adviser with over 20 years’ experience working in charities, including time spent running a local Citizens Advice.
After the Covid pandemic, many services moved online or became harder to reach in person. At the same time, the cost-of-living crisis has made it even tougher for people to manage their money and find the right support. Jo saw just how many people were being left behind - especially those who needed face to face support or didn't know where to turn.
That's why we set up a local, funded and free to access not for profit service.
